The photographs are of a steel truss structure which will enclose a swimming pool. The trusses are composed of 3/8" thick plates as the web member sandwiched with plates on the top and bottom which are bolted together. The vertical members are angles and channels which are bolted to the web plates and act as stiffeners.  The web openings were cut into the plates using a CNC machine and the layout was supplied by a .dxf file that the machine was able to read. The structure will have wood framing attached over the steel and will have a wood roof and sheathing. Disappointingly, the trusses will actually be enclosed in a ceiling so the hard work of the fabricator and detailer will never be truly appreciated.
